Color
Many computer programs represent color using a system called HVI, which stands for: hue, value and intensity. Often all three variables are assigned numeric values. Changing these values alters the color accordingly. This system demonstrates quite clearly the semi-independent nature of the three physical properties that constitute color. The precision inherent in this system is useful for the graphic artists, CAD design, and reproduction, but it is of limited practicality to the studio artist.
